Which class is right for me?

Body Positive is a Hatha yoga class aimed for those who feel uncomfortable in 'the standard' yoga class. Here you can dive into yoga in a safe, non-judgment environment. It is gentle pacing, using props and modifications to help increase joint health, flexibility and strength. Class finishes with a short meditation.

Ashtanga Vinyasa is a vigorous, sweat-producing style of  yoga. It begins with sun salutes warming up the inner fire, and finishing with holding poses that increase with difficulty. Some yoga asana knowledge recommended for this class.

Vinyasa is movement linked with the breath. Asanas (poses) are strung together to make a sequence that flows with the breath. Each class includes sun salutations with variations. Knowledge of basic yoga poses preferred. 

Healthy Aging for Seniors A relaxed and friendly atmosphere with emphasis on simple stretching, balancing and building strength. Props are used to help the body with alignment, flexibility and gain a greater range of mobility. The classes are modified to suit every individual. Chairs are used instead of floor work.

General / Beginners Yoga For new students or those wanting refine the foundations of the poses / movements and breathing techniques. Yoga isn’t just about being flexible and bendy. We build strength, stamina, balance, range of motion, mobility, and we will learn how to breath more efficiently allowing for prana, (life force energy) to vitalize our being. Moving the body is so important, and yoga not only increases body tone, muscle strength and flexibility, it also improves energy levels, respiration, and vitality. Suitable for all.

Kids Yoga A fun, supportive, creative and nurturing class atmosphere providing the opportunity to make meaningful connections to one's self and others in a non-judgmental and non-competitive way. Yoga for kids helps bring a sence of calmness, helps with concentration, body awareness, strength, flexibility and co-ordination. 

Yin yoga is a style of yoga where specific poses are held for a length of time to stretch out the fascia and connective tissues of the body. Unlike yang poses (standard yoga - strong poses) where superficial muscles are targeted, yin yoga targets the deeper layers in the body, our deep fascia networks, ligaments, bones and joints. It increases flexibility and circulation, and improves joint mobility. It also offers emotional and mental benefits. On an energetic level, yin yoga will improve energy flow. All levels welcome.

Meditation A friendly and relaxing meditation class where different styles of meditation will be explored each week. Bring a cushion if you prefer to sit during the session, otherwise bring a mat or blanket to lay on. Enjoy a herbal tea and discussion afterwards.

Corporate Meditation A place where the whole studio can be booked for a meditation class.

Bookings and Prices

Bookings essential as classes are limited.

Bookings now need to be made online. 

PRICE: $15 per class

WEEKLY SUBSCRIPTION: $15 for first class and $10 per additional class.

If it is your first time to WILD YAM, please arrive 10 mins early to settle in and fill in a registration form.

If possible, bring your own mat, although we have mats you can borrow if you don't have your own.

You may like to bring a water bottle.

Try not to eat two hours before class, and wear comfortable clothing.
